Apollo Shipping GmbH & Co. KG was founded in the year 1991 by Peter Meyer-Wenk & Lars G. Frederiksen.
The aim was to constitute a service for several small shipowners, who have needed commercial operation for their vessels. From the beginning on the initiative was a great success and still it is. Today the fleet operated by Apollo Shipping has grown to over thirty-seven vessels in sizes of 2.500 up to 8.600 dwcc. Together with our partners  we frequently modernize our fleet. At present there are fourteen newbuildings in sizes between 4.200 upto 8.600 dwcc under construction and will enter the active fleet continously.

Apollo Shipping holds contracts with several reputable world wide operating companies for the transport of over two million tons of cargo yearly. In addition four million tons of cargoes are fixed on the spot market. Presently our main areas of trade consist of the entire European Continent, all Baltic as well as Black Sea ports and especially Mediterranean Sea with the North African Coast. On demand also the West African, South American and Carribean ports are being served by Apollo Shipping. We always look to extend our trade areas according to market requirements.

The transport of any cargo is our appointment. Fertilizers, ore, recycling- and building materials, grain, timber, peat moss etc. are the typical kinds of cargoes we handle with.
Moreover many of our contracts include project cargoes and heavy lifts like windmill equipment and yachts. Naturally the Apollo fleet is  also equipped for general container cargoes.

The young Apollo-team of experienced shipbrokers is continuously working on satisfaction of our customers´ needs. Due to establishing a network of sister companies in the European range, we have successfully increased our flexibility in every respect of the shipping industry.
